FireFox: Always a better choice

Category: Firefox

I don’t know how to convince others to try using FireFox (FF) browser.
Currently, FireFox has been evolved to FireFox2. More flexible and great (well, I’m not an advance user, so I can’t give much comment about this)

However, many websites or blogs, even some “unofficial” html tags cannot function well in FireFox. I know that Blogger’s blog usually is best view with Internet Explorer(IE). But I’m developing my blog using FF, so I recommend you to view my blog in FF. (Although the autostart=”false” attribute of the embeded tag is not working in FF. NOTE: embed is not a standard tag. It’s meant for IE.)

I don’t care how FF really works. In short, I feel that by using FF, you can grab back the web - surf faster.

Not until this morning when I view my blog with both FF and IE. And what a difference! It seems that my IE is not supporting .png files properly. Take a look at the difference, those images suppose to be in transparent background.

FireFox Internet Explorer

Firefox 2

Update: This problem happens in IE6.

i’m using firefox for the moment, though i still think IE works fine for me. it’s just that the latest IE really is a heavy consumer of ram usage, and sometime it hangs a little, that really annoyed me, so i switch to FF.
btw, the embeded tag is really a mass problem for me, i’ve tried a lot of ways, but the only way is to make it into a flash player, that it’ll works in almost every browser. i cant really feel that FF has faster connecting speed than IE, and hey, my IE works fine for displaying correctly ur .png file (the FF logo), the area around it is in transparent… i guess ur IE might be too old

Well, your Windows is genuine, so you can always get free updates which always pass the software validation…but my is not a genuine version (lol)..that was screenshot taken using my laptop. My IE sucks..but if I view it using the lastest IE (my genuine version of Wins in my desktop), it just work fine.

it’s an, i might say, interesting situation, i find that most of the internet users who are close-related to computing field (i certainly am not), recommends FF, maybe they (including u, of course) think it’s a better products compared to IE because they know more computing stuffs more than other ordinary internet users. but the weird thing is… FF is not so accepted in japan, of coz i dont have any reports or materials to support my view, but i’ve been surfing quite a lot of japan websites (website hosting/blogging-material-provider websites, toungue twisted, but i guess u get wat i mean) they all recommends their surfers to use IE to view… so maybe i guess the FF trend have yet reach there? or they think IE is good for their sites?

i saw this code from a blog’s page source: ( param name=”autoStart” value=”false” ), it work in FF

it uses object tag as a tag to insert music, instead of ‘embeded’. i think u shud try ^^

Oh, thanks for the tips, I will check it out later. Hmm, I guess a lot of websites, including professional ones, will recommend its readers/visitors to you IE. And a lot of sites out there use IE as the development platform, of course I’m not saying that other browsers are not used for developing websites. In comparison, I think IE has its popularity more than FF, and hence, many people go for IE. Haha..IT field people recommend FF, hmm…seems like it’s nearly true. Well, just like IT pros always use weird things to do stuff, such as (I don’t know why), to me, Mac, Linux, Unix looks like is for pro people..lol
