Last Night’s Dinner

Category: Food and Drinks

It’s not suppose to have raining season at this kind of time, but haiz..the atmosphere is changing. It was raining heavily last night here, in Kuching. However, it still couldn’t stop me from eating roti canai at Jolibee.

Roti means bread in Hindi, Urdu, most other North Indian languages, and Malay. The term “canai” derives from “channa”, a mixture of boiled chickpeas in a spicy gravy from Northern India which it was traditionally served with. The term “channa” is also used in Pakistan. In English, roti canai is sometimes referred to as “flying bread,” a term that evokes the process of tossing and spinning by which it is made.

The weather was cold. In such breezing hour, it’s just nice to have a cup of hot beverage. Instead of ordering Teh C Peng (Iced Milk Tea) as usual, I ordered a cup of Teh C. (Hot Milk Tea) Orange ordered his favorite hot Milo.

Teh C & Milo - RM2.20

The thought of having a bowl of hot soup to warm up a little bit came up my mind, so I ordered a bowl of seafood soup..but hey..I only ordered the seafood SOUP…the girl made me a seafood soup with a plain kolo mee. Anyway, the noodle tasted nice, no harm. But of course cost more, the soup is RM3.00, and now adding the noodle..hmm but I forget the price. =.=

Seafood Soup & Plain Kolo Mee - RM3.00++

The roti canai definitely took some time to be served. It comes with many flavor. It simply taste good in plain. But my favorite ones are with Planta, or Planta Bawang (Planta & Onions). Last night we ordered 4 pieces of Roti Canai Planta, 2 pieces each. It feels great to eat roti canai since for a long time I haven’t have it. Since it was cooked with margarine, it was oily. Oh, and I love the curry that served along.

Roti Canai Planta - RM5.20 (RM1.30 x 4pcs)

What a wonderful dinner.
