The BanQuet

Category: Food and Drinks

The BanQuet 三川楼 is a new eating out around 4th Mile area in Kuching. This restaurant has been launched some time ago, but last night was my first time visiting it. My friend was celebrating his birthday and he invited me and other friends to The BanQuet for dinner. The environment outside the building is quite nice. The building itself is quite unique. The food..hmm I don’t know how much it cost for my friend to order 6 dishes for 10 person. (1 of the dishes - crab, was given free. My friend kept on repeating it!! )

The food still can consider tasty. Among the 6 dishes, I like the “Salted Mixed Vege”. It is actually 3 kinds of vege - potato, eggplant and long bean. Both potato and eggplant were cut into piece and deep fried later, then cooked together with the long bean. The thing that makes this dish salty yet delicious is the preserved egg yoke. (咸蛋黄) I don’t know how they did it, but it seems that the vege was “coated” with this preserved egg yoke. Delicious…yummy..I’ll try to cook this dish some day.

I didn’t take any pictures of the food because I felt it would be very embarrassing when everyone looking at you just to take food photo. If I were to go to this place again with Orange, I sure will take some food pictures. No embarrassment in front of Orange. ^^ So, I only managed to take some photos of the birthday cake bought by us for our friend.

yea, that’s 2 piggies in the middle ^@^
can you guess his age from the candles??
