Know a Little More ’bout My Blogging History

Everything starts with a reason. If you ever wonder why I start blogging, you will find the answer in this post. Before hosting my own domain, I launched my blog in Blogger. I’m a member of Blogger since May 2004. Back that time, blogging is something quite new and not as popular as today. I created my blog and deleted it over and over again – no inspiration and idea on how to blog that time. Then I tried to blog somewhat a bit seriously in MSN Spaces (now known as Windows Live Spaces).

Then, I saw more and more wonderful blogs around the Web and thought that MSN Spaces is not that adequate already. Therefore, on 1st January 2007, I started my blogging life “officially” back in Blogger. Hence, xiaoyenzi.blogspot.com was reborn. After sometime, I felt I needed a own hosted WordPress blog. So now, this is my blog with my very own domain. :)

Why? Why am I blogging all this while? I started a blog initially is to try out this new blogging trend. Almost everyone has a blog, I want it too! As I’m in the IT field, I must always update myself with the trends going on, or else I will be out-dated way too fast! After I started my blog in January this year, I decided to have a blog that shares anything that I found it interesting. Of course, I also avoid talking too much about my private personal life (Who would want to read about that anyway? Unless those that know you in person.)

I also blog because I want to do an experiment on making money online. I keep wander how probloggers can earn a living through blogging. So I’m trying to learn and understand it by trying out myself, and it really needs patience and time – not as easy as it seem to be. Making friends in the blogoshere also feels great, because you share your ideas and someone might give you feedback – you’re not alone, someone is reading what you write. Therefore, I’m always careful of what I say (type) in my blog. People don’t know me, so they judge my personality through my words. Although many people claim that they own their blogs, they can write whatever in it, I still try to avoid writing something that would have cause conflicts.

Blogging has now become an important component in my life. I become more aggressive and alert with my surroundings, as I’m searching for inspiration to blog. And blogging is addictive, believe me. Anyway, hope you enjoy your blogging life too!

By the way, I hope you like the concept of the keyboard picture to the right. That’s my keyboard. :P
