I think most of us (who own a blog) would love to hear some feedbacks or comments from our readers. So that’s what the comment boxes are for. And this makes the difference between a traditional html website and blogs. Blogs involve interaction among the author and readers.
Therefore, if you read something interesting and have some thoughts towards it, just feel free to leave a comment to the author. Let the author know how you think about the article and both the author and you might learn something new from one another. Comments are like treasures to the author. He/She would love to keep the comments together with the relevant articles… Try NOT to leave your relevant comments for an article in the chat box widget.
Why? You might think leaving a comment in the chat box widget is much more easier and faster. BUT! How long are those precious comments of yours be remained in the chat box database? Not every blogger paid for the full version of chat box services that allow them to keep all the messages.
Reasons for leaving comments in comment box:
- Your comments will be part of the archive - future reference.
- Easier for the author to know which article you are commenting - it’s such a mess if you leave your comment in the chatbox when there are lots of articles, not knowing which one are you referring to.
- Your comments may add some value to the article - some points might be left out by the author.
- Chances of letting the author visits your site too! - most authors would love to know who the readers are.
- Good impressions - psychologically, people will think a post with more comments might be more interesting than post without a single comment.
It’s a two way communication. By leaving comment in the comment box also shows your opinion towards the relevant issue. You might get someone with the same mind set going to your site/blog as well. (free links)
But of course, don’t simply leave comments which do not relate to the post you are commenting. That’s a spam! Only leave relevant comments where appropriate.

Thanks for leaving me a comment on my site. Yes I agree with leaving relevant comments on the post instead of the chatbox widget. Because the comments left there will will be gone in no time..
