Singapore Trip: Orchard Road

Category: Travel

We stayed in Hotel Grand Central which is located in Orchard Road. Therefore, it was very convenient for us to shop in the shopping complex in Orchard Road. After going to Chinatown, we went back to the hotel for some rest. When night fell, we started our night tour around Orchard Road.

Orchard Road is really a busy street…

Every where you can see Starbucks Coffee. But of course we didn’t stop by.

Some time ago, I saw a blogger friend posted some pictures taken in Singapore. And I saw a picture of this building which was taken during day time. Now, I’ve taken a night time view. It’s the Singapore Visitors Centre.

It was really beautiful at night. Lights all around.

Deepavali just ended, yet Christmas decoration is up on the street now. This is somewhere near Takashimaya.

Sometimes we stopped and walked into the shopping complex for some window shopping. In fact this tour, we didn’t buy much things. Exchange rate is high man…S$1 = RM2.32.

We walked and walked until we saw a fountain. An event was held here.

Curiosity kill the cat. We went in to have a look..Oh..it was some sort of car exhibition or something.

Many people were eating there. We were not sure if it was a free buffet. Just stopped by for a little while before we left.

There were girls dancing on stage too! Belly dance~~

Orange asked me don’t stare at lengzai (handsome guy). I didn’t, but I saw chiobu (pretty girls). :P

While walking in the street, we saw a lady playing lute or pipa (琵琶) - a Chinese traditional musical instrument. This is the first time I saw live street performance. Notice the “Thank you” box? If you like the music, perhaps you can give a token of appreciation by giving some $$.

Some more decoration along the road.

My legs were really tired, all I needed for that time was this:

However, Dad walked non-stop and so fast. It was really hard for me to capture good shots as I, too, need to catch up with Dad’s step. We didn’t rest our pitiful legs, instead we continue walking…really many buildings around.

The opposite is another shopping complex.

In order to cross the road, we have to take the “underground tunnel”. It was crowded every where.

Dad really walked very fast. So I just simply captured a graffiti along the pathway.

At last, we still have to walk back to our starting point - the hotel.
My legs….
