Gegege no Kitaro by Motoki Katsuhide
Sometime I go, Jay-han mentioned about this movie. It sounds interesting so I finally get to watch it. Well, nowadays there’s really a lot of manga or anime come into Live Action, meaning movie version.
Kitaro is half-human and half-yokai (a general term for creatures and supernatural beings), orphaned as a child and dedicated to keeping the peace between the human and yokai worlds. Kitaro tries to save a high school girl named Yumeko and stop a stone with the power to control both worlds from falling into the wrong hands.
It’s a very straight forward story with crazy and amazing computer graphics. It’s true that the most unforgettable yokai (monster) is the Eyeball Otosan.
You can always see very nice computer graphic like this in a Japanese movie.
This is the Eyeball yokai, which is the Kitaro’s (the main character) father.
This is Kitaro. It’s very funny when he use his hair as some sort of spike weapon and later become bald.

The whole story is mostly about this magical yokai stone.
The nine-tail fox boss is very furious when he found out the stone is gone!!
Added some adventure..
And a bit of romance…but bitter at the end.

It’s all about monsters..a yokai party as the ending.

There are many more monsters that look alike in many online games, especially Ragnarok Online.
