A Little More of Boulevard

Last Sunday, went to Boulevard with Cherry and friend. In fact, we went there just because Cherry wanted to buy a pair of new sandals. You have seen Boulevard in Christmas decoration. Now, let me present to you – Boulevard in Chinese New Year decoration.

Boulevard Kuching
Main Entrance

There’s a long white Chinese dragon in the middle of the mall but I didn’t manage to take a picture of it.

Boulevard shopping mall is located not far away from my house. During peak hours, I have to avoid using the route that pass by Boulevard. Because there will definitely be a massive traffic jam. What is causing the traffic? Because of cars parking freely along the road, blocking the traffic.

I wonder why are they not using the car park provided by Boulevard. So, I decided to take a look around. This happened some time ago, not on last Sunday. I drove into the basement car park….

Boulevard car park
Spacious Car Park

That was the first time I entered the basement car park. It’s free of charge and spacious. But during peak hour, this spacious car park will be full of cars – parking lots not enough. No wonder people randomly park their cars outside the building, beside the road.

There’s an elevator from basement to the shopping mall. The environment was still kinda dusty for some reason.

I personally prefer Boulevard hypermart more than Ta Kiong from The Spring. Because it looks more…. ‘sexy‘.

Earlier this month, everyone was very busy applying for the Boulevard Family Card (BFC). My colleagues filled the form in the office and I helped them to submit the forms. I rather call it Boulevard Fans Club…LOL. Consumers with BFC can enjoy discounts in certain goods purchase.

Upon registration of BFC, they gave free mineral water, packing by Boulevard themselves.

I didn’t apply for BFC anyway.  Annual membership fee is RM10.

    more ‘sexy’??? hahahahha.. wah, need to pay rm10 some more oh…

    You stay nearby? Me too. Wat a coincidence. The few days, I walked to shop there. But now, since the crowd is less, I prefer to drive and park at the basement. That way, I can buy a lot and dun worry about bringing it back by foot.

    be honest … the spring or boulevard better?

  • BlueStar says:

    make me miss home…=p just feel it’s so nice can go to shop around!

  • Apple says:

    @LeeChien,
    Ta Kiong from The Spring also offer membership card, but I don’t know how much.

    @Choonie,
    hehe, but my house is not as near like yours. Still need to drive.

    @headsteadi,
    Well, it’s actually very hard to compare since Boulevard is actually only half done. But from the comments that I’ve heard from the people around me, they prefer The Spring more than Boulevard. If you like trendy outlets and the “KL feel”, The Spring is for you. If you want to buy daily products with more variety of choices than Everrise supermarket, Boulevard is for you. Personally prefer Boulevard, reason – it’s near to my house. Yea, I’m a lazy person. lol

    @BlueStar,
    haha, when are you coming back? Are you Johnny’s classmate? He is coming back to Kuching soon.

  • Vivienne says:

    I reckon the parking wouldn’t be free for long.

  • GenYong says:

    Apple: seems that The Spring is already open! That’s the Kuching new shopping complex right? Congratulations! This complex is just like my hometown Penang Queensbay Mall style! Haha… Is it same contractor? Lol.

  • Apple says:

    @Vivienne,
    I think Boulevard’s car park will be free. If they don’t make it free, the Kuchingites style is to park at other location and walk there, and make more traffic jams. Moreover, that place is more like a residential area, not located in the city, so it’s really not wise if they collect fee for parking cars.

    @GenYong,
    Oh, is it? I don’t know if it’s the same contractor (probably not). The Spring is open, but I been there once only. It’s slightly far from my house and I have nothing to buy there. No $$..things there is expensive. =(
