Guess some of us are frustrated with the PageRank (PR) updates recently. I didn’t care about PR before I joined any $ponsorship campaigns. But when getting your blog approved by such campaigns requires certain PR, I started to be alert. However, you see, Mr. Google is unhappy with such things and finally I got my penalty.
This incident has haunted me the whole day. I was really upset. But look at the good side, in a short time, I get more people to comment in my blog, including famous people like HongKiat and Revell.
So, who do you think can have a full PR of 10?

Google itself, of course! Rival Yahoo! gets a 9. LOL
Being so frustrated, Orange and I decided to play a game - betting. We were betting on the PR of several popular sites!

We logon DigPageRank and think of a domain name. Being a fan of DeviantArt, I suggested that we check on it’s PR. We said before hand that, who ever guess wrong will be tickled. (Both of us scare to be tickled) I said 8, and Orange said 7. And it turned out to be 7!!! I was being tickled at the first round.
The second round, we bet on the famous video sharing community - YouTube. Once again, I said 8. Maybe Orange thought that YouTube belongs to Google or for don’t know what reason, he said 9! I won! I won! It’s PR is 8!! My turn to tickle him. He laughed till nearly fall off from the chair.
It was fun! And after doing some research on the PageRank, I feel much better. I don’t care if PR is of useful anymore. Because you know, someone out there, might be building FAKE PR! You can easily raise your PR by using the Black Hat SEO method.
There’s a site where you can register and submit your blog, and get an instant PR of 4. Or you can simply add a code in your .htacess file to redirect the header to a high PR site. All these are faking and can get your blog banned from Google.
So, tell me. Is PR so important now? Since people can have a fake PR. I rather concentrate on writing quality contents. Happy Blogging~

Howdy ? Hope u always healthy and happy. Of course PR is so important my fren. Actually PR is not to brag, to show off, useless to show off. But the important is, when our PR is high, then blog links can get in higher rank in Google’s index. So people are more easy to find our blog if the search at search engine especially Google.
So what ever, PR still the inmportant thing my fren, because Google made it so
Don;t be afraid, Google will update our PR every 4 or 5 month. Just play clean, always update blog, good quality content, i’m sure u can raise your blog’s PR again.
All the best and gud luck in what ever u do
Peace n justice for all …….

I don’t really care actually since my contents are localized and it really doesn’t affect my readers within Malaysia. Furthermore I’m an idiot in SEO and my contents are not organized properly. So what to expect? My PR started from 3 then to 2 now back to 3, unless I can maintain the momentum of producing quality content, if not I think there is thin hope for my PR to rise… =p
Don’t worry, be happy!

@Choonie,
Oic, that’s pretty cool.
@alvin,
Haha, my blogspot has a PR3, but according to digpagerank.com, it’s a fake one. I don’t know why, maybe because I set my blogspot URL to redirect to my domain?
@babyfiona,

yea..because you are still getting bucks
@Darren,
Like what alvin said, PR atually counts from your domain name. Since you just setup your domain recently, it’s very normal to get a 0 as the initial PR. Don’t worry.

Hahahaha…very funny post! I’m far from famous but this post really brought me a smile. Your page rank will be whatever they give you.
I have had many friends who passed me up in rank and now don’t read my blog even after it was me who taught them how to gain PR. Mine remains 0 and I hope it does forever. Thanks so much Apple!

You’re welcome. Don’t worry, you really have a lot of great content in your blog. And I love some of your quotes about the blogging passion.
