The Spring

One week ago, it was not ready yet. On the 10th this month, it had open to public. Yesterday evening after work, Orange and I decided to visit The Spring!! The day was still young, so the traffic was not terrible. However, we parked our car opposite The Spring, just in case…

The Spring is beautiful as well. For those of you who miss Kuching or decide to come to Kuching, you should really check out the photos in this post!

This is a view from far. The sun was setting…

The Spring exterior

Parkson’s banners are just right in front of The Spring building.

Let’s take a closer look at The Spring. You can see “The Spring”, “Ta Kiong” and “Parkson”. Note: Ta Kiong is a very famous supermarket from Sibu. (I didn’t know until my colleagues told me)

This is the entrance.

At the left of the entrance, stands Starbucks Coffee. The 2nd outlet in Kuching. 1st outlet is in Kuching International Airport.

Starbucks Coffee

And just opposite Starbucks Coffee, to the right of the entrance, is Secret Recipe. Again, it’s the 2nd outlet in Kuching.

Once enter, you can see The Spring theme – blended of purple pink and dark green. Lantern-looking lightings on top.

The Spring interior

A view from the second floor. It was crowded.

The Spring interior

You can almost feel that spring is coming (although we don’t have 4 seasons here). In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, The Spring is decorated with lots of fake plum blossom (梅花).

If you ever read Cherry’s blog entry about The Spring, you should know that there’s some pillar-like thing which she said she forget it’s fountain or not. Well, it’s just some decoration and beneath is a pool of water.

Let’s take a closer look. What the heck?! Is this some kind of wishing well or what? Notice those coins?

Most shop lots are open, but still there are many more shops at the lobby which are not open yet.

A view at the lobby.

I went to take a look at the car park. Wow, there were a lot of cars and really crowded. Luckily I didn’t park my car there.

Car Park

Nothing much at the lobby, so we went up again and search for Ta Kiong. Heard that this supermarket sells imported goods. Crowded, very very crowded.

Ta Kiong

Any eating place? Yes of course! There’s a Food Bazaar here! Selling all kinds of food.
Food Bazaar

2nd outlet of Sushi King is here too! Guess what? Crowded as well…it was just the 2nd day after the opening.

The Spring Sushi King

If you are a Kenny Rogers fan, you will be happy as it is there too (and again, it’s the 2nd outlet in Kuching)! Didn’t take any photo of it.

I like the deco of Food Bazaar, it’s really The Spring’s theme. See pink and green again?

Food Bazaar

Some where in the middle, you can see a erm..resting place I suppose? You can see coins in the water again!  Yet another wishing well?

Food Bazaar

We had our dinner here…stay tune for food updates in the next post.

    @LeeChien,
    Hmm..How big ar? I don’t know how to describe, perhaps when you come back, go visit it and see it for yourself.

    @curryegg,
    haha,curryegg, actually don’t expect too much from Kuching. There’s nothing much here but I think you will love the food here, because it is really cheap compare to West Malaysia.

    @headsteadi,
    Cool, I think you will be amazed with the changes made in Kuching.

    @wombok,
    Thank you. You should go too, take some nic pix as well. It seems like more shops are available, unlike Boulevard.

    @johnny,
    Just endure for another 5 months, do well in your final and you can come back and enjoy =)

    Dear KENBEST Developer,

    About City One Mall:

    please don’t dissapointed Kuching poeple again with another boring OneTJ or OneJaya. Are u sure u can call that CityOne as a mall ??? As i see your still under construction mall, why got so many stairs ? i mean each unit has their own stairs, make it looks just like an ordinary shop lot design, it’s something just near to Precint88 at Jln Song or Travillion at Biaramas building area, that’s too bad though it’s much bigger, it wouldn’t be an interesting mall and doesn’t looks like an actractive mall like tHe Spring. OHW…..COME ON, can u please just give us something REAL, RIGHT, CORRECT !!!

    So far Kuching here still only tHe Spring Mall can really makes us proud and enjoy going there.
