“Religion”, with the double quotes, I mean. Early February this year, eight (8) Super Heros claimed themselves as the “Blog God”. Taking the Blog God as the leader, 7 angels were assigned the tasks to review blogs in the blogosphere, by publishing all their reviews in a blog named “Blog God” with a tag line “show me your blog and I will tell you how much it SUCKS“. (which I personally dislike the way it sounds)

Just before they stand a chance to (possibly) review my blog, I would like to say how I feel about them.
The reviewers are known as the “angels” of the Blog God. They believe that only a small portion of blogs from the blogosphere are good and the rest are bad.
Quote:
One day I was looking down on Earth and saw all of the evil and sucky blogs that you people have created and also all the bitching about each others’ blog. So I decided to send an angel down to Earth to check it out. So I called one of my best angels and sent the angel to check it out. When she returned she told Me, the blogs on Earth are 95% is Bad and 5% is good.
Well, I thought for a moment and thought maybe I’d better send down a second angel to get another point of view. So I called another angel and sent him to Earth for another time. When the angel returned reply “Yes, the blogs on Earth is in decline. 95% is bad and 5% is good.”

Okay, so I wonder how they define the good and bad of a blog. Unfortunately, there isn’t any standards or guidelines stated. It’s in fact base on the reviewers’ taste, which may lead to bias opinions.
How much can you put your trust in them? I just simply checked out their blogs and are all hosted in Blogspot.com without own domain. First impression - amateur bloggers. (Well, a blog is good base on the quality contents, not the domain, I know.) Their posts are full of Manglish or Singlish, so it’s good for blogs that write in such languages too.
*Note: Manglish = Malaysian English; Singlish = Singaporean English; with phrase like lah, meh, etc that doesn’t seem to make any sense for non-Manglish/Singlish speaker*
The language tone sounds rude to me. Afterall, they just do this for pure fun.
Quoted from their FAQs:
read that liao. you people are not even that fehmes! think you so good one meh?
dey budak, we are not saying we are THAT good. we are doing this for pure fun. after all, it does help to generate traffic(it is proven ok!) and give your blog recognitions!
And most blog reviews they did are amateur blogs too. Amateur for amateur, fair enough.
Who and why should give them a try?
- Bloggers who are from Malaysia and Singapore.
- Definitely draws traffic to your blog(s).
- Expose your blog(s) to local community (Malaysian and Singaporean).
- Learn from the critics given. You can improve your blog(s) by accepting the suggestions which you think is productive from the reviewers.
My Two Cents
Personally think that this act is a good intention to improve blogs and introduce a two-way-communication between readers and bloggers. It would be better if the reviewers can talk in a more polite way. Anyway, everyone has his/her own rights to write whatever he/she feels like writing.

I agree with Renge. There is totally no wrong in trying to improve the quality of blogs, I guess. There is, however, a better way to put things. Why should we put up to people’s opinion. People blog in their own way, in their own fashion. Forcing everyone to conform to this way or that is no different from being a communistic society.
We’re all unique, that’s what makes the world such an interesting place to live in.

@Shay,
The tag line already gives a very rude impression. But I wonder how good can the reviewers’ blogs be? Since they give critics that sounds rude…
@joshuaun,
But they made themselves sound so “god-like” and “invincible”.
@Renge,
haha…I also did mention about that they sound rude for me. Think they will be the heartbreakers in the blogosphere, “reviewing” how “suck” a blog is.
@Aleckii,
I agree that we are all unique. Sometimes we can listen to other people’s suggestion but doesn’t mean we have to follow it.

Nice write up on that “bloggod”. Personally I don’t like anybody who proclaim themselves as god. I think there are many other ways of drawing traffic to your blog, no need to put up such link if you do not agree with what they are doing.
However, like you said, it is good to have people review your blog for free, but for me…not for someone who proclaim as god…

@BlogMalaysia.com
First of all, thanks for visiting my blog. Just came across their blog and wonder what was they up to and found that they have made some interesting statement. However, I didn’t submit my blog for their review. (I don’t think I need them, because my readers will always give good suggestions)
In fact, I dislike harsh words/reviews on anything found in blogs, not saying that we can’t make negative comments but at least in a more polite way, right?
And of course, another good way to increase blog traffic is to submit the blog to directories like BlogMalaysia.com
