Surf’s Up by Ash Brannon & Chris Buck

I know, this is not a new movie. I always love to watch animation, so how can I miss out this one? But only until yesterday evening I get the chance to watch the DVD version with Orange. I think that Surf’s Up is yet another interesting animation - very different from the other penguin movie, Happy Feet.

It’s a story about how Cody Maverick, a penguin, learns how to surf and finally success. I love the way the plot starts. The story starts by interviewing Cody and he starts to tell the story.

This is Cody when he was a little guy. Cute, eh? Cody’s voice was casted by Shia LaBeouf. Do you know who is he? Yea, the “Transformers guy”.

There’s funny scene and some parodies around. Check this out! We have ESPN sports channel, whereas the penguins have SPEN!!

There’s also a very funny character - Chicken Joe.

And the little ones. They are so cute that makes me go “awwww~~~”.

This black face little guy (I call him Niggar) is so cute, he is very naughty and always love to try surfing with the elders.

This is Cody when he grew up.

It’s hard to learn how to surf. You need to make your own board.

And finally, here comes to beautiful surfing scenes.

Overall, I think this is a quite nice animation with interesting way of presentation. Have you watched this movie? I’ve heard comments about this animation is boring and for kids. How do you think about it?

Speak about Shia LaBeouf, he is going to come up with very nice movies soon. Sometime around this year “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” will be released and be sure to catch LaBeouf in the cast. And for those Transformers fans, 2009 is the year for you, because LaBeouf (probably) will be back in Transformers 2.
