Pikom organized a 3-day-PC fair here, in Kuching. I believe most of us in Malaysia know that now is the PC fair season. The past three days, a lot of people went to the PC fair. Of course I was there too. I went there on the first and last day. Arrived there quite late on the first day. Just managed to take a look around and do some price survey and bought a Canon PIXMA iP1880 printer on behalf of the company, at the price of RM148. And yesterday (the last day of PC fair), I saw the price had dropped to RM138. =.=

The PC fair is not as large in size like the one I attended years ago back in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur.
I dislike crowded place but still, how can I resist not going to the PC fair…
It’s rather hard for me to take some nice shots. Too many people walking around and squeezing in the crowd. =.=

The greatest deal in the entire PC fair is pendrives! A high demand of pendrives just drive every consumer crazy when you can get a 1GB pendrive at only RM17!! Kingston is favored by most. They had a booth setup for free gift redemption.
I did think of getting one for myself, but 1GB is rather insufficient for me. Initially thought of getting a 4GB or 8GB..
Somewhere in the middle is the online game promotion section. Perfect World and other Chinese MMORPG… not so attractive to me, after I played Silkroad Online (what a spoiling game with extreme graphics!).
Managed to snap some photos of the hardware pricing. I don’t know if you can consider those cheap, but that’s what you can get in Kuching’s PC fair.
Many choices, many booths. At last, we still purchase our goods in PC Image. We bought quite a lot of things from them all these while. These photos were taken on the first day. Some prices dropped on the last day. 2GB and 4GB Kingston pendrive from PC Image all kena sapu (being bought) by people until no stock left!!
We spent the most in this booth. Orange spent some too, guess he will update you guys some time later as he is now busy configuring his computer. I didn’t get myself an 8BG pendrive. Instead, I bought a 2.5″ external hard disk 
These were the things that I bought during this PC fair.
In fact, I just bought a 120GB Western Digital external hard disk at RM177, including the hard disk enclosure. I helped my colleague bought a 1GB Kingston pendrive at RM17 and got a free gift (I didn’t give her the free gift *evil grin*).
The sales person asked me to get back to them on either Wednesday or Thursday so that they can help me attach the hard disk to the casing. They were too busy that time until they didn’t have the time to help me attached the hard disk and format it. I don’t think I want to waste time and petrol for that. No big deal, so I just attached it myself.
Just screwed it and go to disk management to format the drive and ready to go~~

Oh, you always work as a promoter during PC fair. What is it this time? Still promoting for Streamyx? Now they have the Steamyx Combo package. During the PC fair in Kuching, those people kept shouting “Free modem, free keyboard, free mouse…” LOL

I went on Friday night and the place was packed. I had my eye on the 4gig pen drive and decided to get one from Boulevard IT for RM47.00. I was left feeling very ‘beh song’ after finding out that it was selling for RM46.00 at other booths. hahaha.

oh.. i went pc fair @ kch also, my first time.. this week is the turn in kl, i’m going!!!! these few years kl pc fair is holding at kl convention centre, larger, got 3 floors. i think 1 floor already much bigger than in kch de…. eh, the kingston’s free gift seems nice weih, hehehe…

PiKOM be in miri next fri (18/4). 1GB pendrive just at RM17??? Wow, the market seem so tough…
just wonder how much the cost price is? must be very cheap. can u imagine, if last time they sell it at RM210 (as mentioned by janice), they make 1235% profit from an 1 GB pendrive.

Hmm..I think without PC fair you still can go to the shop to get an exteral hard disk at affordable price. Hardware is getting cheaper.

ROFL…what time you went there? I went there during the evening..so when walking around the first hall, I already saw 2GB pendrive selling at RM46 from PC Image. Maybe next time you should walk several rounds, make a short survey before buying. If not end up very “beh song”.

Yup…but you know what. When pendrive was first introduced. 512MB was the max you can get and that time I bought a 256MB pendrive at the price of RM250++. 1 MB is like RM1 =.=
