Digg & Stumble Me, Will You?

Category: Blogging

Few days ago, I was given a question like “How do you increase your blog traffic?” If you have been paying attention on blogs that talk about blogging, most of them will give you similar answers and one of them is - Join social bookmarking / networking community.  There are so many social networking communities around the web, which is the best to join? Well, in my opinion, there is no “best” community to join. The more communities you join, the better. However, please do not spam the communities.

For starters, I would recommend you to join social communities that are widely known or popular.  I have joined some of those, but didn’t pay much attention to it.  After some time, I feel the need of being involved in these communities. Not only for blog traffic, but also for discovery of new sites, great articles, etc… You will really be amazed with the results.

I was thinking of sticking to one social bookmarking community, but it is insufficient as you cannot omit the great possibility that other useful articles are shared among other communities as well.  Once you join such communities, you can also submit your blog posts that you think is worth sharing. Hence, another possibility for you to gain new readership.

Today, I’ve made up my mind to join Digg.  I’m still very new there and will have to spend some time to get along with it.  If you are a Digger, remember to add me to your friend list as well. And of course, if you find any of my posts worth sharing, please feel free to Digg it. That will be much appreciated.

I’ve joined StumbleUpon for quite some time. I am a bit lost (as in managing my StumbleUpon page) in StumbleUpon but I love to use this feature to discover many nice websites.  If you are a Stumbler, remember to add me as a friend as well.

Another site that I’ve joined for a long time and abandoned for a long time is Technorati.  Again, I need some time to get along with this. If you own a Technorati account, do add me as well.

Although the above mentioned sites are great tools to share and discover great sites and articles, I have always favored the use of Del.icio.us as my live bookmark.  After thousands of Diggs, Stumbles, or Techs, I feel that it will be difficult for you to look back and find the sites that you would love to visit again (not as easy as browsing through your local broswer Bookmarks or Favorites).  That is why, most of the time, when I find useful sites/blog posts/articles, I will add them to my Del.icio.us bookmark.  So, if you have a Del.icio.us account, please add me and start sharing your bookmarks.

Well, even if you don’t have a Del.icio.us account, you can always browse through my Del.icio.us bookmark for any discoveries update.

Find out why I love to use Del.icio.us bookmark.

Recently, I found that Twitter is also a great tool for page discovery.  Follow me if you have a Twitter account, and of course I will follow you in return. In this way, you and I can get to know more about each other.

Tips: Following the right person can be a great benefit. I’m always introduced to great links by LiewCF via Twitter.

I wanna start building my social network. Are you ready to join me in all these social bookmarking sites?

I agreed that “We can’t spned whole day on social network”. I think I don’t have enough time for all the social networking thing as I have to manage all my blogs. I joined all these social sites but for sure will not be always active, occasionally like what you said.

I reserve those social stuff when I really feel bored and nothing to do, or simply running out of ideas for blogging.
