If you are crazy for the Taiwanese drama “Smiling Pasta” (微笑Pasta), Nicholas Teo is no stranger to you then. (I didn’t watch, though.) Do you know that Nicholas Teo is from Kuching? Yes, Kuching – my hometown!! Now, Kuchingites, are you feeling proud? :P

Have you ever wonder which school Nicholas studied for his secondary education? It’s Chung Hua Middle School No.1, CHMSNo.1 in short (古晋中华第一中学). Rather then saying that it is his school, I would like to say it’s my school too. Well, my school has “produced” some famous kids. Other than Nicholas, the famous Kuching celebrity blogger – Kenny Sia, was once a CHMSNo.1 student. Director Cai Ming Liang, Jessie Chung (Jeffrey Chung), just to name a few, were once a student here too.

I went back to school on the 19th..

This is where I used to study for 6 years. This is the big hall, it wasn’t like that before. It was hard to capture a good shot without fish eye.

Back of the hall, in front of the science lab. I don’t know if that building is still used as a science lab or not. The blue building is the library.

There is a bronze memorial statue here as an appreciation to Mr. Guo XiFeng, a generous person who donates the land for building the school.

Front view of the bronze memorial statue. Well, it was built after I graduated from school. =.=

If you can read Chinese, this is what written on it.

There are two ponds in front of the science lab. However the water lily does not blossom by the time I take all these photos. Same ponds but look really different.

Because, now you can see some “graffitti” on it. Very interesting.

Cute?

Jay Chou really brings great influencial…

I think this is cute. It means “Become an empress/concubine, also rock”

What’s wrong with ducks?

I was a school prefect during my last 3 years in school. The place that I used to “hang out”.

This is the building that I studied in during my final year. I kinda miss those time.

This is something new. I don’t know why they want to build a shade here.

This is the canteen. Air-con inside. Do you spot Orange?

Well, the main reason for going back is to visit the China book exhibition held in the hall from 18th May to 3rd June.

Life is good now, fully air conditional hall. During my time, only fans were available.

Lastly, people do change – especially after becoming famous…

Just take Nicholas Teo as an example.

Cool?
