Green Bento

The first time get to know about Green Bento Company is from wombok‘s blog. Back that time, Green Bento was using Blogspot.com as their online business platform. Today, they have become more “pro” and have their very own dot com. What is Green Bento Company? I would call them the virtual cafe. Not really virual, but you make your orders virtually, either via email or phone calls. They do not have a brick-and-motar shoplot for diners to dine out, instead, they take orders and deliver it to you. No extra charges for transportation fee, as I believe the cost of the food has included the delivery charges.

Last month, I’ve tried to make an order via email. I gave them my name, contact number, menu order number, location and delivery time. Basically, they served Western and Asian bento (bento actually means lunch box in Japanese). I ordered a chicken chop bento and a fish chop bento. (But in the photos they look almost alike)

I expected them to give me a call or a reply via email for confirmation. However, they didn’t but they did send the lunch on time. Nice timing! We were given a cup of free fresh barley.

The Asian bento usually served in

- Choice of white rice or brown rice
- 3 types of side dishes of daily vegetables (changes daily)
- Soup of the day

I ordered white rice.

Although it looks like fried, the meal is not very oily. However it may be pricey if you want to eat more, especially for those with big appetite.

But it still worth trying. So, for those of you who reside in Kuching, maybe you can try out the dishes from Green Bento too.  They also provide catering service. Check out their menu and you are interested, you can always give them a call or contact them via email.
