What ISP are you using? In Malaysia, we have Streamyx broadband and other ISP. Sad to say that in Sarawak, the only broadband service we have here so far is only Streamyx. It sucks a lot recently!! Search around the net, you can find a lot of complaints about this ISP. Orange is frustrated with the situation too!
Even if I have the best cable and or Cat5e Keystone jack, I still can’t get a good connection, because it’s the ISP that matters. I hate the phrase “Service Interruption” from Streamyx. I found out an announcement made on 13th August from Streamyx, saying that they are undergoing an email upgrading exercise. Does that explain why recently I always get “Page Load Error” or “Connection Interrupted” errors in my Firefox browser??!?!
The worse thing is, how long do they need just to upgrade the email service? “14th August 2008 until Tuesday, 2nd September 2008.” (source), stated Streamyx. Gosh!! They are not punctual as well.
Normal Internet user may not feel much difference, but for hardcore user like us, we need to upload and download a lot of things, it’s really irritating to have bad connection!

Apple, can totally relate to the pain you’re going through… I’d just had a bad episode with Screamyx back in July, and blogged (more like screamed) about it here…

Hang in there… the WiMax service just started in KV… hopefully its a good one (yet to test it), and hopefully it’ll hit Kuching soon too.

Apple,
A few years back, we were toying with the idea of using Screamyx enterprise 2mb line for our off-site office connection. It was very cheap — less than RM 1k per month…. about 15% of the cost of a dedicated line.
LUCKILY for the team, that decision was discarded in favour of the much more dependable dedicated line.
A dedicated line costs more, but in the long run, the loss of productivity from an unreliable ‘best effort’ service would totally outweigh any savings you get from the ADSL service from Screamyx!
Don play play aar….

Wow…seems like I’m not alone. A lot of screamyx users has become the victims for a very long time.

Streamyx Sux! That must be the over-used term to describe streamyx for years now … but this doesn’t make their service any better does it? No matter how many times you complained to them, they’ll just fix the problem temporarily… not in a long run.. so yeah, once again, Streamyx sux!
p.s: Couldn’t connect to internet at all last night! Pfft… money suckers!
