Happy Niu Year

Happy Niu (new) Year to all! This year is the year of ox. In Chinese, ox is known as “Niu” 牛. One of the Chinese new year icon is the red packets, or usually known as ang pao. I have seen lots of different ang pao designs, but not from those in the IT field.

I have ang pao packets from Kingston and HP.

I think the HP ang pao (although its not red in color) design is elegant

  Excuse me for being ignorant, but what exactly are the packets for ? Are they given as gifts (._.) I feel like such a noob

  These little packets are given as gifts, like what you said. Money is inserted into the packets and given to kids and senior citizen (like working adults giving red packets to their parents). The amount of money depends on the person who give the packet.

  Happy Chinese New Year! The Kingston ang pao design is rather cute! The HP ones on the other hand are kinda retro with some exquisite touch! =)
