New Google Favicon!

Yesterday I was too busy to surf the web in the office. Once I reached home, open up my Firefox browser, login to Google Adsense to check the statistic and I found an eye catching icon right on the address bar! Oh, Google has updated its favicon again! Last year, Google changed the capital ” G” favicon to the lower case “g”.

Yesterday (10th Jan, GMT+8), Google finally changed its favicon too a really colorful one!

Google got the inspiration from a computer science undergraduate student at the University of Campinas in Brazil. As you know that Google had open the favicon design submission.

I think the new favicon is quite nice, much better than the previous one (the one with small letter “g”). What do you think?

  I think the logo submitted by Andre Resende looked much better. The New logo is hard to tell that it is a ‘g’.

  Does it seem to anyone else that the new favicon follows the Windows logo, and oddly enough, it was released the same day Windows 7 Beta 1 was officially released?

  I think alike too! It’s really hard to tell it’s a “g”. However, I prefer the colors used by Google. It’s brighter. If it could be used with Andre’s original design, I think it would be perfect
