The Tarot Cafe

One of the hottest topic in town is “Have you been to Tarot?”. Yes, apparently Kuching people love to eat, eat and eat. Nowadays Kuchingnites love to hangout at luxurious dining place. (Economic not good?!) Well, there’s a couple of new cafes around with similar logo, which I think they got the inspiration (imitation?) from Starbucks.

Went to The Tarot Cafe on the first day of 2009 with Orange, Cherry and LeeChien.
Warning: Do not read with empty stomach.
Tarot consists of 78 cards. And they have 78 card designs printed and hang on the wall – quite creative and you can feel the theme of the cafe.

Red is a wise color, it definitely fits the atmosphere. You can also sit outdoor. It was a windy and rainy day, so we chose to sit indoor.

The menu. Mostly serve local dishes at reasonable price. We looked at the menu for quite some time as we didn’t know what to order!

The dessert photos are quite tempting. Colorful and look tasty.

There’s another special Tarot drink menu.

Instruction is printed in the first page. To know which is your Tarot drink, you have to follow 4 steps by using your birthday.
Let 15.03.1970 be your birthday.
- sum up 1970 + 3 + 15 = 1988
- another sum up 1 + 9 + 8 + 8 = 26 (If the total is lesser than 22, then it’s your Tarot number)
- final sum up 2 + 6 = 8
- Refer to the booklet for the number in the final sum up to know which Tarot drink belongs to you.

This is the outcome for me. “Before a true love, some will fake themselves. Changing from passive waiting to pro-active will be promote attraction.” LOL, I don’t really get what it means until I read the Chinese description =.=

So my drink is “The Empress”. Looks nice but I didn’t order.

At last, I ordered White Milk Tea. I love their milk tea, very nice! LeeChien ordered this as well. The service is really poor. LeeChien arrived slightly late and ordered the same drink, but they gave her hot milk tea. When asked for a change, it took them quite long before LeeChien can have her iced milk tea. =.=

White Milk Tea – RM3.50
Cherry ordered a glass of White Milk Tea Coffee Jelly. It’s just like the milk tea I ordered, but with coffee flavored jelly.

White Milk Tea Coffee Jelly – RM4.00
Orange ordered dragonfruit juice. Look so red, but if you ever eat a dragonfruit, you know its the natural color.

Dragon Fruit – RM7.90
This is really nice!! Fried noodle ordered by Orange. Had a mouthful of it and I think it’s really nice.

Fried noodle – RM8.90
Cherry ordered sausage fried rice. Look tasty but I didn’t taste it, so don’t know how it taste.

Fried rice – RM6.90
I ordered Sinchiew fried bee hoon or vermicelli. I’m a vermicelli freak, and have tasted vermicelli from various places. This is quite disappointing, though.

Fried bee hoon – RM6.90
For side orders we had french fries. LeeChien didn’t order any food, as she already had her lunch so she just ate some french fries.

French Fries – RM4.00
Can’t resist curry, so ordered it as side order, shared with Orange. The bread is nice but the curry is just average. Too many bones, perhaps it was the remaining curry of the day.

Curry and Bread – RM5.90
Overall the food is quite tasty, the environment is good. But there’s more room for improvement in their service. The food is served quite slow. We were so hungry that afternoon.
With such nice food around, diet pills seem really useless too…hahaha
