Today, I’m going to tell you a little more about the Windows key on your keyboard. (yes, for Windows users of course!) You must be thinking that this key seems a little extra since you can use your mouse to click on the Start menu.

In fact, the Windows key has several functions available when combine with certain keys.

Windows Key : Functionally equivalent to clicking the Start button on Windows Taskbar

Read on to find out more on how you can make full use of the Windows key.

+ Tab :  Cycles through the open programs through the taskbar. I don’t think this is very useful, as I prefer Alt + Tab.

+ E  : Opens the My Computer window for browsing disks and files. In other words, it’s a shortcut key for opening Windows Explorer.

+ M : Minimizes all windows.

Shift + + M : Cancel minimization of all windows. Undo the above mentioned minimize action.

+ R : Activates the Run dialog. You don’t have to click on the Start button and look for the Run function.

+L : Log off Windows. An easier shortcut to logoff!

Are you a Windows user? Do you already know you can do those with the Windows key? Try out now, if you haven’t. ^^
