Chap Goh Meh

Besides the first day of Chinese New Year, Chap Goh Meh 十五暝, or literally known as the “Fifteenth Night” is an important date for those who celebrate Chinese New Year. It also marks the end of Chinese New Year celebration. (Yes, it’s celebrated for 15 days.) Family members will gather together to have another reunion dinner. Shops will be closed earlier for the celebration. I had my reunion dinner with my family on the day before Chap Goh Meh, which was a Sunday. I think most of us celebrate it on Sunday because it’s a Sunday, less hassle.

Another thing that I would like to mention is the Nian Gao 年糕 or new year cake. It’s an essential food during the festival. I don’t know how its made, its very sweet and normally we will fry it with flour or egg.

I was off duty on 6pm, an hour earlier than my normal working hour. I didn’t go home for reunion dinner as we already had steamboat dinner at home on Sunday night. Went to Orange’s place and we ordered pizza from Pizzahut via their website. We wanted to make a delivery order but don’t know for what reason, the service was not available that time. So we just made a pick up order. It’s kinda fun once I click on the submit button, around 10 seconds later, the phone rings. (sounds creepy?)

We had a very enjoyable pizza dinner while watching American Pie – The Naked Mile. Not a new movie but still quite entertaining as I didn’t watch this series before.

I didn’t snap any photos of the things we ordered from Pizzahut due to the dim lighting. We spent RM60, including taxes, for the pizza and side orders. We were so full…and there’s still some left over which I will make hot later for my breakfast

This is the second time I ordered pizza via online. The first time was ordered by my colleague in the office and it was a delivery order. They were fast, once our order was confirmed, our delivery reached the office after 30 minutes. Franchise outlets can do that, how bout the local ones? That’s for food industry, how about retail franchises, can they provide accurate and efficient services? Now, everything goes online…
