Handling a Car Tyre

After the incident of my car breakdown, I decided to learn some basic troubleshooting / maintenance of a car, for fulfilling one of my new year resolutions – “Learn something new”. It was just few weeks ago, my friend Clement asked me if I know how to change a car tyre. I said no. We did “learn”, or a more precise word to use – “watch” the tutor demonstrated how to change a tyre during one of  our driving lessons. That was like 9 years ago. Can you imagine, all these years, I never even had a practical on changing a tyre?

Last Wednesday, when I thought of going out to settle some thing, I found out that one of my car tyres was flatten!! I still hadn’t learn how to handle such situation yet! I called my friend Wen for help. While he was helping me to change the spare tyre, I watched and learned.

Yesterday Orange was busy at work, so he wasn’t able to give me a hand. This morning, I thought I might want to try to change back the original tyre, which I had already pumped in the air. I tried so hard but to no avail because the nuts were so tight! I tried to jump on top of the socket spanner, that didn’t help at all. LOL. I really don’t have the strength.

But at least today I learned how to jack up the car. Not really difficult for a first timer like me. Just need a little patience at first.

I gave up changing the tyre at the end. After work, I asked Orange to help me out.

My hero..hehe.

Now, I have my tyre fixed, but one of the nuts is “broken”, displaced due to too tight and when wanna loosen it, it just broke!

I actually watched Youtube too, to ensure I don’t do things the wrong way. Quite informative for those who wanna learn how to change tyre.
