Handmade Kolo Mee

Category: Food and Drinks

The increase of fuel price affects other things to increase price as well, especially food. The food in Kuching, in compare to those big cities in West Malaysia, is much more cheaper. But sooner or later, the food here will become more and more expensive. A bowl of kolo mee used to be RM1.50. Slowly increased to RM2.00 - RM2.20. Now, you CANNOT find any kolo mee stall selling kolo mee at the price below RM2.50.

Yea, you heard me. Now, a bowl of kolo mee is at least RM2.50. I ever ate a plain (only a few fish slice and roasted pork) bowl of kolo mee that cost me RM3!! (that’s really overpriced, not like they are adding abalone) But there’s still one place that serve delicious kolo mee, good in quantity and quality. It’s at the upper level of the 3rd Mile wet market.

One day I ordered a bowl of handmade kolo mee (notice the shape of the noodle is slightly flat) and a cup of fresh soya bean, all together only cost me RM3.50; RM2.50 for the kolo mee and RM1.00 for the soya bean drink.

So Kuching folks, if you want to eat something that can make you full and pay less, go to 3rd Mile wet market food stall…hehe

Sharing Planet 分享

While attending Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2008 at Sharing Planet, we had our dinner there too. If you have read my previous post, you should have seen the surroundings of Sharing Planet. The food is quite nice and at reasonable price. However, it’s a little stuffy there.

I mentioned before that Sharing Planet is using the nature theme as decoration. Even their menu is unique! See the tree bark cover? Read more…

Rakutei Japanese Restaurant

When I was still working at Crown Tower early last year, the management of Crown Square (which is just next to Crown Tower) was planning some changes. And that’s the first time I get to know about Rakutei when it was still undergoing renovation work before the opening. After I quited my previous job, I have forgotten about this Japanese restaurant until I saw a post entry in PeiHau’s blog. Since then, I always wanted to try dining there. Only until last 2 weeks, I got the chance to satisfy my taste bud in Rakutei.

Japanese food is always so beautiful…

TAKA: 3-Dimensional Cakes

Category: Event, Food and Drinks

Still remember 2 days ago I did mention about 3D cakes? Now, I’m going to show you more cute and creative 3D cakes, or known as 3-Dimensional cakes. These cakes are brought to you by TAKA Cake House, one of the popular bakeries in Kuching.

TAKA Cake House was having a roadshow at Crown Square on 13-15 June 2008. Sorry I was busy and wasn’t able to update as fast as Anna or Alysha. (They are much more efficent than me!) During the roadshow, many cakes made me drools.

Do you notice some 3D models in the photo? Let’s see some close up shots.

Desserts

Category: Food and Drinks

This is a place where you can get ice-cream, coffee and cakes. All tasty yet fatty junk. I went to Desserts (Boulevard branch) with Cherry, Cheese and other friends one week ago. All of us ordered 3 flavors which normally cost RM6.50, be it in cup or cone. I used the discount coupon from MyPrivilegeBook with “Buy 1 FREE 1 3 flavor”. Means, we only need to pay RM6.50 for 6 flavors.

Too bad by that time, Orange was already away… eventhough the ice-cream taste great, I still felt empty. Read more…
