During Chinese new year, this dish is always served as an opening and it is an essential dish to have – Yee Sang.

Everyone used chopstick to mix the yee sang and wish everyone a prosperous new year.

Next, we have this steamed rice in lotus leaf.

The shark fin soup is a luxurious dish, and also a common dish during a gathering dinner like this.

Herbal Chicken, also known as “Beggar Chicken”.

Fish is also another symbolic dish during Chinese new year. We had steamed fish.

At last, we have some dessert.

It’s almost Dad’s birthday, so we celebrated it earlier.

We were all so full and it was a blissful dinner with family.

During new year eve (22nd Jan), my friends came to my house to have a steamboat reunion dinner. This is kinda cool, because before this, I never celebrate reunion dinner with friends!

Just like last year, I went to eat BBQ steamboat with a bunch of friends. We had steamboat at Swan Teem BBQ Steamboat 双天自助铁板火锅城. I didn’t eat much as I easily get full when eating steamboat. It was glad to gather with friends at end of the year.

Let’s see what kind of new year resolutions I have this year:

1. Keep fit. I wanna get back in shape!! I want to continue my Slimming Project.
2. Focus more on my blogs as much as I spent time on Facebook.
3. Figure out how to increase my online revenue.
4. Get a baking oven. I wanna learn and have fun with baking. [one of my new year resolutions from year 2010 which I did not achieve.]
5. Hangout more with my Canon G11.

I really hope I can achieve all of them this year!

By the way, today is also A.P.P.L.E’s 5th year anniversary. Oh wow! I’ve been in the blogging community for 5 years, yet my blog has not reach 1000 blog posts. It’s time to move on.

Looking back, I don’t think there’s much to say for year 2011. Perhaps I blog less and that’s why it seems to have nothing to refer back. (how sad, and look at the comments left for my blog is almost 0 all the time)

However, there are some memorable events:

On Feb, I went to KL for vacation. It’s such a tough decision for me to on leave for vacation. I was suppose to post up photos on this vacation, yet…well all those photos are lying quietly in my PC.

11th of March, I bought myself a 16GB iPhone 4. So far, I’m still enjoy using it. iOS rocks!

1st of April was a changing point for my life. It seemed like an April fool joke, yet it was not. I was promoted in my career. However, misunderstanding issues were every where and I nearly lost my friendship. Anyway, I have lost a friend this year. D:

Some time around April, I have got my Google Adsense pament. Thanks Google!

Some time around July, I bought myself a second iDevice, which is a 32GB iPad 2 black. Suppose to blog about it as well. Perhaps you will see a lot of blog posts next year which were events happened in 2011!! LOL.

Also happening in July, I was assigned a task to blog about a basketball competition held by Celcom, and I was sponsored by Nuffnang. Thanks Nuffnang for giving me this opportunity!

8th August, I got a kitten. And now he has grown into a very cute and beautiful cat. I even setup a Tumblr blog specially dedicated to my cat, Chi.

During mid August, I went to Singapore for vacation. It was actually an annual company trip. Staff who work 3 years and above are entitled to join the trip. It was my first company trip! The trip was awesome. Photos were taken, of course. And…those photos are lying quietly in my PC as well. Those photos are not even in my Facebook! LOL.

From 29th October to 1st November, I went to Miri. It was a business trip. Went there to meet the branch staff and provide some training. It was a great trip, although tired staying in the office for long hours. Every air I breathed in was freedom. XD

It took me 2 days (24th December – 25th December) to help Orange moved out from his previous accommodation.  Reason to move out was due to the increase of house rental. The other housemates did not agree with the increment, hence we all had to move out. I was so stress looking for new ‘hideout’. Thanks to my friend, I was able to settle Orange down, and checked him into his new place – Courtyard Sanctuary apartment at MJC.

Best thing to end the year, my another Google Adsense payment has been issued. This is the 2nd payment from Google this year. How sad to see the online revenue is rapidly decreasing

Next, let’s take a look at my  2011 new year resolution:

1. Reduce fat!!!!! I wanna be slim and beautiful.
2. Money, money, come come.
3. Read another 5 books!! Reading is great!
4. Get an iPad.
5. Design and decorate my bedroom interior.
6. Blog more often.

Let’s see what I have achieved so far:

1. This is an epic fail. I did not loose weight, and i have gained some. I just measured my waistline. It has become 35″?! WTH!!??!

2. Yes, just a little. And I have to work harder.

3. I didn’t finish any book!! OMFG! Thanks to the iDevices I have bought.

4. Yes!!! I have achieved this. [MISSION ACCOMPLISHED]

5. I did a rearrangement to my bedroom and add some deco like light bulbs for Christmas. Be it Christmas or not, the light bulbs is always beautiful to gaze at.

6. Another fail mission. Look at my archives and you will understand what I mean. Perhaps micro-blogging like sharing posts at Twitter or Tumblr is much more easier and convenient these days.

Alright, that’s for 2011.

This is how the old Facebook profile looks like.

The most attractive feature you can find in timeline is the “Cover”. It’s like the image header you found in almost every typical personal blogs. Or if you are using Path on your smartphones, it’s the same like the “cover” in your Path profile.

After converting my Facebook profile to the new timeline profile, this is how it looks like.

You probably need some time to get used to the interface, though.

“Once you get timeline, you’ll have 7 days before anyone else can see it. This gives you a chance to get your timeline looking the way you want before other people see it.”

Now, you can highlight / feature any posts that you share on your timeline by clicking the star icon. You can hide or delete posts from your timeline as well.

Some people dislike the new timeline profile. But we still have to bare with it as sooner or later everyone will be forced to change. Once you get use to it, there should not be any problems. Just like previously Facebook changed their interface and gained a lot of negative feedback. Still, people are using Facebook!

My Two Cents:

I have not visited any local ICT fair since I started working in computer retailer shop. I have to stay in office, working full shift during the fair season. People might think that price might not drop much, or think that there ain’t much new stuff. Well, you gotta be there to find out for yourselves. Technology is moving in a rapid phase, so be sure to be there to grab some gadgets during offers or promos available. For Kuching region, the location is not Permata car park this time. So, it’s a great opportunity for you to visit the BCCK.

Ingredients:

• Rice (preferable better quality ones)
• Shallot (sliced)
• Ginger (julienne)
• Dried mushroom (sliced, soak in water before slicing)
• Salt
• Sesame oil
• Cooking oil
• Water

Tools and utensils:

• Rice cooker
• Wok / Frying pan
• Spatula

Once you have all the ingredients and tools ready, you can start cooking. Yay!

Steps:

1. Heat the wok. If you don’t have a wok, frying pan will do (but it’s a bit difficult to sauté later).

2. Pour in a little amount of cooking oil, add in ginger and shallot, sauté respectively.

3. Until you can sense the fragrance from the ginger and shallot, add in the dried mushroom.

4. Add in the rice (uncooked) to the wok, sauté together with the ingredients. Just to mix well, so you don’t need cook them in the wok for too long.

Hint: Remember to wash the rice before cooking.

5. Pour the mixture (rice and ingredients) to the rice cooker.

6. Add water (depends on the amount of rice you are going to cook). You will need to add a little more (just a little more, not too much) water than usual, as the dried mushrooms will absorb water.

7. Add in a pinch of salt and sesame oil to taste into the rice cooker. Stir well. Make sure the (mixture) surface is flat, or else you might get an outcome of some part uncooked.

8. Switch on your rice cooker and let it do the rest of the job.

Bon appétit!

It can be served with other dishes or just the fragrant rice itself. It’s your choice.

Well, one optional ingredient which you can try is to add in chicken. Chicken is a good combination. Remember to sauté the chicken with other ingredients before setting it to cook in the rice cooker

Tips: Before slicing the dried mushrooms, soak them into water to soften them. You may use the water when cooking the rice later. This can enhance the fragrance.

The pretty girl beside me shared the same name (Apple) and same birthday with me

During January this year, I went to the salon to change the color of my hair again. This time I thought of having some even more bright and outstanding color.

After few washing of the hair, the color get even brighter. I was not so use to it by that time. But still love the bright color.

Of course the black hair is growing all the time. I went to the salon to cover up the black part . And for nearly 8 months, I maintain my hair with this color. Last August, I was on my budget yet my black hair grew quite a lot already. Desperately wanna cover the black hair, so I went to buy the brightest hair dye solution I can get from normal super market and DIY.

Today, I went to a salon which I ever tried before. It was introduced by Mika. He always goes to that salon to get his hair done. The results are always great, that is why I decided to give it a try. The salon name is Crown Hair Studio, located in the city.

I picked grey. Before coloring, here comes the bleaching.

Sitting there fore nearly 5 hours and finally…

Greyish, bluish, silverish.. I’m so in love with this new look.  However, this is believed to be not the final look yet. After several times of washing, the color will gradually ‘fade off’ and the remaining color is what the hairstylist intended to let me have for my hair.

Too good not to post for some photos, don’t you think so?

Hmm, yea of course I need some makeup to make the entire photo nicer.

We are poor souls who do not own any credit card. So, off we go..with a bunch of RM50 on hand, just to get 2 units of iPhone 4. During March, DiGi had a promo of getting the first iPhone with a smart plan, and the 2nd phone can be purchased without any contract (smart plans).

And that is how Orange and I got an iPhone 4 for ourselves. I got the smart plan with an iPhone 4, while he got the 2nd iPhone (plan free).

It was my dream smart phone…

And at last, I got one for myself!

This sounds crazy and imba. Once we go the phone on hand and settle the payment, we went to have a drink at KFC..and..our Apple pro friend, Peter, helped us jailbreak using his Mac Book Pro. XD

Now, Orange and I can play games together.

Even during hangout, we can just stare at our iPhones and do whatever we want.

P/S: I’ve been wanting to blog about my iPhone 4 for many months ago. Yet, busy at work just make me more and more lazy to post any updates But I guess those of you who followed me on my social network like Facebook or Twitter, will already know that I have obtained an iPhone early this March.

Anyway, I love my phone but the home button is getting less and less sensitive. Perhaps almost time to send in for warranty :/
