Orange ate this, another type of noodle. I think it’s glass noodle (I can hardly recall just by looking at the photo, it as nearly a year ago.. LOL)

After breakfast, my friend sent us to 1 Utama Shopping Center. It’s a very big shopping complex and it was also my first time here (although I’ve been to KL several times!)

There are plenty of things to see here. Since this is a food post, I will just focus on the food we had here.

Garrett popcorn! The first time I had this popcorn was during my company trip to Singapore. I just can’t forget the taste of the caramel melting in the mouth!

Just look at his stunned face! LOL

And then, we tried out this cute little Italian Cone Pizza!

Simply delicious. Just pick what you want and them serve you on the spot.

After that, we met up with another friend. She brought us to IKEA. It was an amazing shopping experience! Can’t wait to visit there for the second time! The food there is cheap and tasty too!

Get ready a trolley first! There were a total of 4 person in our group.

I cannot remember how much did it cost to have this dish. Sorry about that.. I love the salad behind and yes, you ought to try out their Swedish meatball. Delicious!!

Oh, and one more thing! After the Ikea check out point, there are also selling some light food. Try out their curry puff!

End of day 3 food post. Day 4 is our last day in KL, will write a post about our last day trip, combining with the food we had.

We planned to go for a long day trip before returning to the hotel, so we need to feed ourselves as satisfying as possible. I tried the fried bee hoon (rice noodle). I love KL’s rice noodle, it’s soft and yummy.

Orange had fried kway teow that morning.

They have nice teh peng (iced milk tea) here as well. The taste is quite rich. *thumbs up*

During late noon, right after we had visited KLCC, we had the famous Snowflake at Pavilion.

We waited in the long queue before our turn. I remember the first time I tried this dessert, we also waited for quite some time. That time Orange did not follow me to KL.

If you ask me what is the most unforgettable meal during this trip, I would have to say — eating Subway together with Orange.

This is my second visit to Subway. The very first time I tasted Subway was during my visit to KL in 2011. Did I mention this trip was the first time, me and Orange going for vacation together every since we were together?

Every time I mention about Subway, I am really excited, and keep telling Orange that I cannot forget its taste. And now, finally, he got the chance to pick and choose his choice of Subway sandwich!

Tadaa~~ I love Subway! We don’t have Subway here in Kuching. But, we are going to have Subway here, very soon, this year!

At night, we met up with friends. Our friends brought us to Bukit Ampang roadside food stall to have dinner + supper.

I didn’t know KL has such wonderful place. The weather is very cool as it’s located at the foot of the mountain (correct me if I’m wrong).

There are a variety of food available here. Mostly are mamak stalls.

This was also a great experience eating out at a cool place, enjoying the food and breeze.

Right after we arrived at our hotel, we rest for a little while and our friend came to pick us. The first stop was to Berjaya Times Square. We saw Subway! But we skipped it for the first day. Our very first meal in KL is at Uncle Duck Hong Kong Restaurant 得哥香港火锅餐厅.

My friend ordered this signature steamboat. You can pick what sort of ingredient you want! Yummy!

I was having fried rice. Since it was some time ago, I hardly remember what did Orange eat that time

We had side dish as well. This is deep fried clams.

After our lunch (it was around 2pm that time), my friend went back to work and we started our journey. Guess what we had for snack? It’s pretzel!  I have tasted Auntie Anne’s pretzel once introduced by a friend. I have been dreaming of bringing Orange to have a bite of this! And finally we did it!

It was so delicious and irresistible!!

We had ice-blended beverage to ease the thirst! But of course, we did bring along mineral water with us.

We walked back to our hotel and was really exhausted. Skipped dinner and slept quite early that night. I was actually quite hungry after some time, ended up watching TV in the hotel while surfing the web via my iPhone.

We should have gone downstairs to have some food since there are so many hawker stalls during night time along Jalan Alor. Staying near Jalan Alor, food is never a problem!

Happy 2013!! Today is also A.P.P.L.E’s 6th anniversary! I have been so inactive year by year. This year, I promise myself to stay with my blog(s) more often. Even if it’s just a short update of my life or interesting events. This is my blog, I can post whatever I want, with ethics of course.

New year, new life, new resolutions!

My 2013 resolutions:

1. Target weight 50kgs, reach this target before end of December 2013. (time to workout, move the ass)
2. Do something to increase my monthly income. (be it online or offline)
3. Be active in the blogosphere once again.
4. Read more books!
5. Be cheerful and motivated almost all the time
6. Perhaps, getting a baking oven for sure, this time *teehee*

Sounds simple, yet it’s so hard to achieve all of them! I’ll try my best!

Good bye 2012. It has been a harsh year for me, especially for my working life. I was and still am so “dedicated” to my job and have totally neglected my blog (how sad is this) and have totally forget of fulfilling my new year resolution for 2012.

Nothing much happen to my personal life this year.

Greatest achievement should be the purchasing of the following items:

• 40″ Sony Bravia KDL-40HX750 LED Internet TV – bought from Courts Mammoth on 20th August 2012
• Perodua MyVi SE 1.5 (auto) mystical purple car – bought on 4th December 2012

Purchasing my very first car, means I have to increase my monthly expenses. I WISH FOR A PAY RISE! DESPERATELY NEED A PAY RISE OR PERHAPS GET A PART TIME JOB OR FREELANCE WHATEVER MY TALENTS COULD HELP!!!! (Too bad, boss you won’t be reading this, I know)

Let’s see what I have achieved for this year’s resolution:

1. Keep fit. I wanna get back in shape!! I want to continue my Slimming Project.
2. Focus more on my blogs as much as I spent time on Facebook.
3. Figure out how to increase my online revenue.
4. Get a baking oven. I wanna learn and have fun with baking. [one of my new year resolutions from year 2010 which I did not achieve.]
5. Hangout more with my Canon G11.

I have slimmed down, but my weight still cap around 60kg!

I hardly blog!!

No improvement on my online revenue. (

Baking oven seems to be delayed every time from my list.

My G11 spent most of its time inside the leather pouch!!

What a failure this year! I only managed to slim down a little and the rest remain unchanged.

It’s very easy to spot Apple Hotel, because the building is painted in apple green and is very outstanding among all the other blocks next to it.

To be honest, Jalan Alor is quite messy and dirty. Some times you an sense unpleasant smells, mostly because the left over food or whatsoever. However, it is a very convenient place to hunt food. There are plenty of food shops available, especially at night. (But, please beware of personal belongings)

Once we entered Apple Hotel, it was like walking into another world. It’s very clean and comfortable. They have a very friendly staff at the front counter. She is Ms Lisa (just get to know her name when I search more information about the hotel itself from the Facebook fan page)

There are plenty of apple-shaped decoration. Just look at the rattan chair! Apple-shaped as well~

Oh, and this is a strictly non-smoking hotel, so it’s very clean for a budget hotel. Room keeping service will only be provided upon request. We stayed there for 3 nights, we didn’t ask for room keeping. You know, we just like to anyhow left our shopping bags around and hoping no one simply move things around Hence, I think that’s not a big deal. I feel there’s more “privacy” now.

There is green wall with a map of KL city area inside the hotel. As you can see, it is quite near to the shopping hot spots – Bintang Walk.

We stayed there for 4 days 3 nights. I booked a double bed room via online. Their room reservation system in their website was not working well for me, so I booked via email. I emailed my booking queries to enquiry@applehotels.com. I am quite satisfied with the speed of their email respond. A big applause to their customer service!

I spent around RM400++ for the room which I had paid to Apple Hotel upon booking. (Bank in to their bank account) I was then given the booking number via email as well. Make sure to record down the booking number and show them your IC (the person who book) upon check-in.

We took the earliest flight available. We arrived at the airport around 5am in the morning. We chose to fly with AirAsia. The tickets were actually booked 3 months ago during the promo period.

We departed at 6.05am.

Amazing experience, it was, to observe the entire sun rising process in the sky.

We arrived at LCCT around 7.40am, about 10 minutes earlier than the estimated time. This is also my first time landed at LCCT.  I used to landed at KLIA instead of LCCT when I travel to Kuala Lumpur.

We used SkyBus to go to KL Sentral. If you wanna save up, it’s a wise choice to purchase the SkyBus tickets together with your AirAsia ticket. It’s really hassle free. All you gotta do is to show your travel itinerary (with the proof that you have purchased the SkyBus tickets) to the bus attendant.

It takes about 1 hour 20 minutes to reach KL Sentral. Listening to the music can help you relax a bit during the whole journey.

Once we arrived at KL Sentral, we were kinda “lost”. Initially wanna take the LRT to our hotel. At last, a friend of mine told me to take the Monorail instead. This was also our first time visit to KL Sentral. It’s still undergoing heavy construction for the station to link to the Monorail station. So it’s kinda stuffy and dirty. In fact, we just have to walk to the opposite road to get to the Monorail station once going down from the bus.

That’s why I mentioned that we were kinda “lost”, walking here and there just to look for ways (means of transport) to get to our hotel.  But just this one time, after that we get ourselves familiar with the area and travel to and fro a lot at that area.

This rapidKL token is the ticket / pass to board the Monorail. This is what we do not have back here in Sarawak.

Our destination is Jalan Alor. We took the Monorail from KL Sentral to the Bukit Bintang station. RM2.10 per trip. Convenient and do not have to stuck in terrible traffic jam. But involve a lot of walking. For people like us who always drive here and there, walking has become an art. Make sure to equip proper shoe for long distance walking

And finally, we were at Jalan Alor.  Hot, sweating and tiring. Yet, happy.

During Chinese new year, this dish is always served as an opening and it is an essential dish to have – Yee Sang.

Everyone used chopstick to mix the yee sang and wish everyone a prosperous new year.

Next, we have this steamed rice in lotus leaf.

The shark fin soup is a luxurious dish, and also a common dish during a gathering dinner like this.

Herbal Chicken, also known as “Beggar Chicken”.

Fish is also another symbolic dish during Chinese new year. We had steamed fish.

At last, we have some dessert.

It’s almost Dad’s birthday, so we celebrated it earlier.

We were all so full and it was a blissful dinner with family.

During new year eve (22nd Jan), my friends came to my house to have a steamboat reunion dinner. This is kinda cool, because before this, I never celebrate reunion dinner with friends!

I was busy preparing the food.

It was kinda fun after all, although the BBQ hot plate is not as sizzling as those in the shop.

We were all so full ^_^

Just like last year, I went to eat BBQ steamboat with a bunch of friends. We had steamboat at Swan Teem BBQ Steamboat 双天自助铁板火锅城. I didn’t eat much as I easily get full when eating steamboat. It was glad to gather with friends at end of the year.
