Just wanna keep a short note as reminder and future reference. Gigabyte Geforce 8500GT TurboForce (GV-NX85T256HP) has a cool feature known as the 3D Active Fan.

Since this is a heat pipe version, the cooling is base on the heat pipe. As for the fan above, it’s built for any 3D rending. Meaning, in normal situation (without 3D), the fan will not work.
The 3D Active Fan allows the fan to switch between being turned off when not needed (2D) and turns on during 3D.
So don’t bugging around claiming that the fan is not working while non-3D graphic is running.

I finally got myself a new “baby”. I’ve been thinking of getting a hard drive for a very long time, in order to store a lot of media files. There are many brands for hard disk, some of the popular ones are Western Digital, Maxtor, Samsung, Seagate, etc…

Yes, a 640GB SATA hard disk!! Model: Western Digital WD6-400AAKS.
My computer is too old for a SATA hard drive, its motherboard only supports IDE (just imagine how old is my desktop computer, it was bought around year 2003, when I hardly knew anything about hardware back then) Read more…

What is life? It’s something we cannot define or interpret with a single word, phrase or sentence. Life is something very complicated and more like a philosophy. Life is sometimes full of troublesome. But when we look at the pair of innocent eyes of a new born baby, we will think it’s the most wonderful thing in the world.
Nana, my god sis who is 2 years younger than me, was married in 2006 and has just gave birth to a baby girl early last April. Look at her tiny hand. You won’t cut a new born baby’s hair or nail for the first month after birth. (that’s the Chinese culture, not sure about others)

It’s a very wonderful thing to watch a small cell grows and become a human being. Read more…

Start from today, I will drop some short notes in my blog with the tag “consumer’s note” for my future reference, as well as my readers. I’m going to post some hardware (after sales) reviews for you to make your purchase decision.
Speaking about digital camera, what will be your priority? Brand? Features? Price? There are several brands around the market and it’s hard to define which is good, which is bad. It’s all personal preference. Nowadays we prefer to have a digital camera, be it DSLR or point-and-shoot. I almost forget something like Nikon binoculars.

There’s this BenQ digital camera DC C740 (not a new model though). If you are having this camera, take good care of its lens. It looks good and you can get it at a reasonable price, offering some fine features. However, there are several cases of crooked lens of this model, other wise, other faulty problems like: no display, display blur, lens cannot return to default position, lens cannot “zoom out”, etc.
What reseller never tell you: Once your camera lens is crooked, the warranty is considered void.
My Two Cents:
I don’t know is it because of the quality standard of this model (DC C740) or other models with same brand, many case reported that the camera lens is crooked. So, handle your camera (regardless what brand) with care. Do not drop it! Bare in mind that once warranty void, also means expensive repair fee.
