Frankly speaking, I nearly fall asleep several times at the beginning of the movie. If you watched Underworld 1 and 2, you know that the movie is quite “dull” because of night scenes or dark/blue color in the movie. It’s worse in Underworld 3. The movie starts to be slightly exciting, or should I say into the climax, after an hour play. And it’s a one and a half hour movie!It’s only recommended for those who have watched Underworld 1 and 2, or else you won’t be able to fully understand the whole story. Although it’s not as exciting as the previous series, it’s worth watching so that you can get the whole picture in your mind.

Why is Lycans and Vampires blood enemy? It all begins in this movie. But the power of love bind Sonja (a vampire) and Lucian (a lycan) together. As usual, the nude love making scene is cut off. (no fun, because without this scene, you can’t measure how deep they love each other )

Every time watching a love story of different races, reminds of Orange and I. So I decided to give Dad a new nick name called “Viktor”. Viktor is the wicked vampire king in the Underwolrd movie.

Stardust by Matthew Vaughn

The reason I didn’t watch this movie earlier is because one of my friends said this is not a nice movie. I have to proof him wrong. Well, next time I won’t simply listen to others’ movie critics anymore. I’d rather watch and judge for myself. (different people has different taste)

If you like fantasy and romance, this is a movie for you.  It’s a story about a boy named Tristan Thorn (played by Charlie Cox) finding his true love and at the same time forging his destiny. Not like in the real world, the stars are not individual planets.  They are beautiful ladies who believed to give immortal life to those who have eaten their (the stars) hearts. Yvaine (played by Claire Danes) is the star that fell from the sky and she started her journey with Tristan….and the story goes on.

Claire Danes really has the angelic look! Reminds me of the young Juliet she played back many years ago in Romeo + Juliet, together with Leonardo DiCaprio (as Romeo).

I feel so in love when watching this movie If you don’t have sense of humor and romance, and if you are not open to fantasy, sorry dude, this is not the movie for you. Guess you better go watch Star Wars. =.=

Sometime I go, Jay-han mentioned about this movie. It sounds interesting so I finally get to watch it. Well, nowadays there’s really a lot of manga or anime come into Live Action, meaning movie version.

Kitaro is half-human and half-yokai (a general term for creatures and supernatural beings), orphaned as a child and dedicated to keeping the peace between the human and yokai worlds. Kitaro tries to save a high school girl named Yumeko and stop a stone with the power to control both worlds from falling into the wrong hands.

It’s a very straight forward story with crazy and amazing computer graphics. It’s true that the most unforgettable yokai (monster) is the Eyeball Otosan.

You can always see very nice computer graphic like this in a Japanese movie.

This is the Eyeball yokai, which is the Kitaro’s (the main character) father.

This is Kitaro. It’s very funny when he use his hair as some sort of spike weapon and later become bald.

The whole story is mostly about this magical yokai stone.

The nine-tail fox boss is very furious when he found out the stone is gone!!

Added some adventure..

And a bit of romance…but bitter at the end.

Dororo by Akihiko Shiota

Why? Because there’s a game called Blood Will Tell (will talk about this in the next post) which I used to enjoy back when those days I was so attached to PS2. But you know me, I seldom finish any games. =.= After watching this movie, I have a feeling of starting to play this game again!! haha..

Then later I found out that Dororo is initially a Japanese manga by Osamu Tezuka during the late 1960s. Cool~~ I love the storyline, and come to think of it! I love ancient scene.

So, what is this movie all about? Check out the plot synopsis:

In the distant future of Japan, samurai Daigo Kagemitsu makes a deal with the 48 major demons known as majins. The 48 demons offer Daigo Kagemitsu the power to win all future battles and become the lord protector of Japan. In return Daigo Kagemitsu must allow the demons to take away 48 body parts of his future unborn son. Daigo Kagemitsu accepts the demons offer.The boy eventually is born but without 48 body parts. Daigo Kagemitsu wants to kill the son immediately but his mother manages to place the boy in a basket to float away in a river.

The boy is then rescued by a magician who takes pity over the infant and takes him in as his own. The magician over the years devises prosthetic body parts for the boy who is now named Hyakki-Maru. When Hyakki-Maru reaches adulthood he embarks on a journey to kill the 48 demons and regain his natural body parts. Along the way he encounters a spunky young girl named Dororo who joins him on his quest to become “normal” again and accepted by the people.

Well, the storyline is almost alike with I saw in the video game. In this movie, Hyakki-Maru had eliminated 24 demons out of 48. There’s 24 demon remaining. If the source of information I got is not wrong, Dororo 2 will be released in 2008 and Dororo 3 will be released in 2009. Wow! Such a long time…but I’m anticipating..

According to Lunapark6, those who love this movie may also like Azumi, Curse of The Golden Flower, The Restless. Azumi is a another Japanese movie, Curse of The Golden Flower is a Chinese movie with Jay Chou in it..and The Restless is a more recent Korean movie.

Guess I will have to search for those movies too! Well, Orange has The Restless with him, so perhaps the next movie I’m gonna watch is The Restless.
