To ride a horse, you are required to have equipment like the English saddles, riding boots, riding helmets, riding breeches, etc. This means making necessary preparation to get yourself ready. Just like when we want to converse with other people, we need to polish your communication skills and languages.
My new job sometimes requires me to make and receive phone calls. Actually, I have phobia talking over the phone to anonymous. I’m trying to overcome this slowly (no choice if I want to secure my job). What I most afraid of, is to speak in Malay (our national language, but I’m really poor in this language!). Most of the time, I’ll avoid speaking Malay and use English instead. Well, sometimes Manglish, depending on the scenario.
What on earth is Manglish? It’s Malaysian English, with very typical Malaysian style, for instance with all the not-so-meaningful-yet-sounds-natural-phrase like “lah”, “lor”, “ah”. Not only verbally but sometimes literally. I’m working in the warranty department, so every day I will receive malfunction products for warranty claims. Most of the time, the salesperson or technician will write a short note to indicate the problems.
Check this out and you know what I mean.

Okay..tell me is this Manglish? “LCD look like blur blur” sounds really Chinese. (LCD 看起来蒙蒙) Read more…
If you have been following my blog for months, you should have realized that I will always design a “magazine cover” and publish it on the first day on the month. You can check out my preview work here. I’ve been quite “busy” lately.

PIKOM is organizing PC Fair for the second time this year, but not in Kuching this time. However, on the 1st to 3rd August, we here in Kuching is also having a PC Fair organized by other organizer known as the KCBA ICT EXPO. Read more…

It’s 11.03pm now, just back from supper after work not long ago. Today is my 5th day working at my new office, I never expected to work a 2-hour-OT as fast as today. Apparently, I’ve slowed down alot in blogging and reading blogs. Sorry to those who come and visit my blogs frequently and also sorry for those who I subscribed too. I am unable to read or write as much as I previously used to now.
Previously, I mentioned about the 192MB of RAM in my office computer. Initially, I thought I want to bring my own 512MB RAM and install to that computer. This morning, when I wanted to install the additional RAM, to my surprise, that computer is really an “antique”, running two units of 128MB of SDRAM!!!
As my 512MB RAM is a DDR, I can’t use it. So, I will have to stick with the slow computer… Read more…

Last Saturday, 26th July, was my first day working in a new environment. And today will be my second day. I can’t tell how good or how bad it is. My new working place is located in a shopping complex, a company that sells computer products and services. My “office” is quite small and crowded which is shared among my other 3 colleagues. 2 of them are my senior back in college.

This is my work desk. A 14″ CRT monitor, a Microsoft opitcal mouse and a don’t-know-what-brand keyboard (the touch on the keys is great), and the CPU underneath the table. I really can’t compare this with my previous office computer. I have to say that this computer is hell slow. It’s running Windows XP on 192MB of RAM only. =.= Read more…

15th of every month, I have to do “close sales” or “sales closing” for the previous month. I don’t understand why I have to do such thing as I am working as an IT staff, not admin clerk. That’s why I am very BUSY during 15th of every month. Closing sales can take up whole day! From checking total sales tally, to print reports, to filing, to packing… It’s a very dull and tiring job. (Boss, if you are reading this by any chance, I’d like to tell you I really dislike this job as I don’t think it’s in my job specification, moreover I’m underpaid)

Normally I will file the whole pile of invoice file copy till very frustrated. But today, I was very happy! Why? Because this is my last time doing this!!! (Just like the pic above) So happy that I wish I could just pack my luggage and go for a holiday. Read more…
