If you have been following my blog for sometime, you should know that I really love Chinese traditional musical instruments. Guzheng is one of them. “Qing Hua Ci” 青花瓷 is the song I love most in Jay’s latest album, track number 3.

Joey: 小小 (Small Small)

On the way to work, I heard this song from the radio and I knew, this will be a song of my type. The song name is 小小 (pronounce as: xiao xiao; meaning: small, little, tiny, young). The music was composed by Jay Chou (周杰伦) and the lyrics was written by his partner Fang WenShan (方文山, sorry dude, I don’t know your English name). It’s a very “Chinese” tune (中国风), meaning using a mixture of Chinese traditional musical instruments such as Guzheng and Erhu. And the singer is a Hong Kong star, Joey 容祖儿.

The song says about a couple, know each other since when they were kids back in hometown. The girl always followed to boy to wherever he went. In fact, she fell in love with the boy. Perhaps many years later, they have to separate and the girl missed the boy a lot. From then, his little (when they were young) figure stays in her mind forever..while she is looking for the person in her story (which is no doubt, the boy).

Kinda sad, but it’s a nice song with good tune.
